Description

Hi, my name is Lionel and I’m a spectacular woma python. I am a true-blue Aussie, native to central areas of Australia – Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi! I’m incredibly photogenic as you would have seen when Chandler and I walked down the isle aisle together here at Australia Zoo. I always smile!
Although not venomous myself, I have the capability of eating and being bitten by some of Australia’s most venomous snakes and surviving. Crikey! Luckily, I don’t have to worry about that here at Australia Zoo, as my keepers make sure I am safe, warm and they feed me all my favourite food items.
Like all woma pythons, when I am out in the bush I am a bit of a night owl, being more active when it’s dark. During the day I may be resting in cracks underground or under a log. Here at the zoo I am more than happy to oblige for a photo opportunity, then my dazzling personality and good looks come out to play.
I hope you fall in love with me and my wild counterparts, as they need our support! Our native woma python population found throughout the Brigalow Belt is heavily affected by habitat destruction. Sadly, the fragmented population that remains in that area is endangered. Australia Zoo’s conservation property at St George is dedicated to providing sanctuary for a number of endangered native species, including my native cousins! You-beauty!

Terms & Conditions

Most of the inclusions in your adoption pack are online, meaning that your adoption is not only helping one of our animals, but the environment too!
All animal adoptions are a single payment and last for 12 months from the date of purchase. You can choose to renew your adoption after this time and continue your support of our animals and wildlife conservation efforts.

Age, group size and animal restrictions apply; animal encounters are subject to the usual encounter terms and conditions for each animal. Due to health and safety restrictions, saltwater crocodiles are not available for guest encounters; another animal/species will be substituted.
Please note: While all of the animals available for adoption are usually on display at the Zoo and/or participate in encounters, adopting an animal does not guarantee the chance of seeing or meeting them if visiting the Zoo. Animal availability is subject to change; there may be times when animals may be temporarily off display due to unforeseen circumstances, such as veterinary check-ups or enclosure maintenance. If booking one of our amazing animal encounters to meet your adoptee, please advise staff of the animal you adopt at the time of booking.
