Description

G’day! My name is Bert and I’m one of the most adorable Aussie icons to call Australia Zoo home. I’m a young male koala who had to be hand raised. One of my favourite activities is sleeping. I can do this for up to 20 hours every day! When I’m not snoozing, I also like to eat fresh eucalyptus leaves. I’m spoilt with a daily buffet provided by my keepers. I am a TV star, you might recognise me from programs like Crikey! It’s the Irwins! I have a gentle nature and I’m comfortable around people. I enjoy a cuddle and being nursed to sleep by my keepers, or being snuggled by my koala flatmates. My mum, Cedar, and my dad, Baloo, are part of Australia Zoo’s successful koala breeding program. I am one of the newest additions to Australia Zoo’s family and hopefully, when I am old enough and big enough, I will one day be a proud dad also!

Most of the inclusions in your adoption pack are online, meaning that your adoption is not only helping one of our animals, but the environment too!
All animal adoptions are a single payment and last for 12 months from the date of purchase. You can choose to renew your adoption after this time and continue your support of our animals and wildlife conservation efforts.

For Gold or Platinum adoptions, if you are unable to use the included guest passes you can opt to swap the guest passes for a plush toy animal.

Age, group size and animal restrictions apply; animal encounters are subject to the usual encounter terms and conditions for each animal. Due to health and safety restrictions, saltwater crocodiles are not available for guest encounters; another animal/species will be substituted.
Please note: While all of the animals available for adoption are usually on display at the Zoo and/or participate in encounters, adopting an animal does not guarantee the chance of seeing or meeting them if visiting the Zoo. Animal availability is subject to change; there may be times when animals may be temporarily off display due to unforeseen circumstances, such as veterinary check-ups or enclosure maintenance. If booking one of our amazing animal encounters to meet your adoptee, please advise staff of the animal you adopt at the time of booking.
